eOne now compatible with Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 R2

Today is the day many of you (like us) have been looking forward to! We are excited to announce multiple product releases today, many which are needed to be compatible with the Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 R2 release that was posted by Microsoft on May 28th.

We have posted new installs of the following products:

Extender 2013 (12.00.0103) - This release includes the compatibility for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 R2 as well as many other small fixes. Please see the Extender 2013 Release Notes for the changes.

Flexicoder 2013 (12.00.0011) - This release includes the compatibility for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 R2 as well as a few fixes around the RM documents. Please see the Flexicoder 2013 Release Notes for the changes.

SmartList Builder 2010 (11.00.0059) - This release includes a few new features including the Table Finder and Preview. It also includes a change to the Date formatting in Excel Report Builder. Please see the SmartList Builder 2010 Release Notes for the changes.

With SmartList Builder 2013, there are now two releases to be aware of:

SmartList Builder 2013 - Pre R2 (GP Build 1744 or less) (12.00.0067) - This build is for those users NOT on the Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 R2 release. This release includes many different fixes. Please see the SmartList Builder 2013 Release Notes for the changes.

SmartList Builder 2013 R2 (GP Build 1745 or higher) (12.00.0068) - This build is for those users that ARE on the Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 R2 release. This release includes the compatibility for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 R2 as well as many other fixes. Please see the SmartList Builder 2013 R2 Release Notes for the changes.

SmartView 2013 Internal (12.0.25) - This release includes a few new features.  We have added the ability to run Receivables and Payables Trial Balances. You can also now Drag and Drop fields onto the list as well as copy single fields instead of having to copy the entire row.  Please see the SmartView 2013 Release Notes for the changes. SmartView was previously already compatible with Microsoft Dynamics GP 203 R2, so this release just adds new features.

The releases of SmartConnect, Node Builder, and SmartPost that are currently available for download are compatible with any release of Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013.

Another vote for SmartConnect...

We love hearing feedback from customers and partners alike. Sometimes the best feedback we get is from consultants - the folks in the field, working with our products and competitor's products day in and day out. The folks who need products that work and work well...and get them home to their families in time for dinner! This week we received some great feedback from a consultant who formerly used Integration Manager to accomplish his integration projects and is now using SmartConnect. Take a look at his thoughts:

"I have been using IM for a few years now and have just starting working with SmartConnect and I love it, it's awesome, and the amount of documentation available is great. I would not go back to or recommend Integration Manager to any client. I love the scheduling and auto upload. It works seamlessly in the background without having to have a GP session running."

We appreciate all feedback - good and bad - so let us know what you think of any of our products! Our job is to make our partners' and customers' lives easier. How can we do that for you today?

Tech Tuesday: Lookup Templates within Node Builder

This week our Senior Technical Consultant, Chris Hanson, has provided us with a Tech Tuesday video highlighting the lookup templates within Node Builder.

There are some pre-built templates inside of Node Builder that allow you to streamline your work when adding in the needed logic to any node you are creating. The video below shows how to make use of one of those templates on a partially completed node that we have been working on.

Microsoft releases R2 for Dynamics GP Today

It is great to see Microsoft keeps enhancing Dynamics GP and the release today has some nice features added. At eOne we have been busy testing SmartList Builder, Extender, Flexicoder, SmartConnect and SmartPost on the pre-release builds from Microsoft. Everything is looking good and as we do our final Quality Assurance regressions on the released build we will be releasing new builds next week.

We will have additional blogs on the new features we are adding in this release.

Thanks,
Chris Dew

Tech Tuesday: How to Determine if eConnect is Installed or Running on a Machine.

We try to cover questions and issues in our Tech Tuesday articles that we see frequently to equip you before you even think of the question, allowing you to use our products more efficiently and seamlessly. This week our Support Guru, Dave Youngquist, will walk you through determining if eConnect is installed or running on a machine for SmartConnect.

1. Press the Windows + R keys on your keyboard (will open the Run command)

2. Type in services.msc and click the OK button

3. The Services window will open. Scroll down until you see an entry that says “eConnect for Microsoft Dynamics GP 20XX Integration Service”. It may say 2010 or 2013 depending on the version of Microsoft Dynamics GP you are on.

4. SmartConnect requires that the eConnect runtime be installed on every machine that has SmartConnect installed on it. If you do not see it listed in Services, it is not installed. Rerun the SmartConnect installer, and pick a version of eConnect to install on the machine.  eConnect 10 is for GP 10, eConnect 2010 is for GP 2010, and eConnect 2013 is for GP 2013.

5. If eConnect appears in this window, then look in the column that says “Status” make sure that the status is set to “Started”. If the status is not set to started, then right click on the eConnect for Microsoft Dynamics GP 20XX Integration Service and select “Start” from the drop down menu.

6. Watch the service for about 15 seconds. It should start and stay started. If it starts, and then stops within 15 seconds it means either the password is wrong, or the user is not a local machine administrator.

7. To retype the password, right click on the eConnect service, and select Properties from the drop down menu. In the properties window, go to the “Log On” tab.

8. Retype the password there and click OK. After clicking OK, right click on the service again and tell it to start again.

9. If the service still stop, you need to make sure the service user is in the local machine administrators group. In the screenshot above, the user is “eonedemo\Administrator”

10. Click on the Windows + R keys again and in the Run command type in lusrmgr.msc

11. In the Local Users and Groups window, double click on Groups, then double click Administrators. Make sure the service account you found in step 7 is in the Administrators group. If they are not, they need to be added.

12. After adding them to the Administrators group, right click on the service and select Start.  The service should start and stay running this time.

Do you have any product features you'd like us to feature on our next Tech Tuesday article? If so please email me at danielle.erickson@eonesolutions.com.
